Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d)

RockQ Technologies is an innovation-driven German software company with a branch office in Arad, Romania, providing customized software solutions for manufacturing companies across various industries. To support a growing customer base, the Senior Software Engineer will implement new functionalities for our visual no-code development platform and extend and improve the existing ones. Based on this platform we enable our customers to build advanced systems integrated into their production IT — from complete traceability systems to process automation and efficiency gains — combining the full power of a high-level programming language and advanced AI and ML features in the simplicity of simple blocks.

Your Responsibilities

• Implement new functionalities for the RockQ Technologies platform, ensuring timely, complete and high-quality delivery.
• Contribute to frontend development using React, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code, including E2E tests for the features you develop.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural decisions.
• Improve the performance, scalability and reliability of the system.
• Work with Docker-based development and support deployments in on-prem and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Contribute to DevOps discussions (CI/CD, containerization, environment configuration).
• Debug complex production issues across backend, database and frontend layers.
• Integrate with external systems and devices using common network protocols (HTTP, REST, MQTT or similar).

Your Profile

• 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on backend.
• Strong experience with Node.js, including the Express framework, using TypeScript.
• Solid experience with MySQL; Microsoft SQL Server or other databases is a plus.
• Good knowledge of OOP concepts and design patterns, plus experience with Docker and Git.
• Experience working in Linux-based environments and knowledge of basic frontend concepts.
• Nice to have: React, AWS and/or Azure, CI/CD, message queues (RabbitMQ) and high-performance, data-intensive systems.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, good communication and good English. The role may require occasional travel to Germany or the Czech Republic.
